The Pheasant Inn

Had to post this reiew after reading the comments made by BD as I stay here regularly as do many others you meet. there. This is budget accomodation, in fact the cheapest in the area I have found. Rooms are clean with comfortable but basic beds, good showers. Nice friendly people and comfortable bar. Breakfast is generous too, but yes hours are restricted. If you want basic but clean and friendly place to stay this is recommened

I CAN SAY NOTHING POSITIVE ABOUT THIS DUMP. Stayed for 3 nights. Rooms werent made up or cleaned any night. Breakfast only served from 7am to 8am, weekdays 8.30am to 9am weekends. Not very suitable when on a break for a few days. Had no towel in my room (actually big wardrobe would be more appropriate) when checked in - left waiting in bar for over 30mins when asked for a towel. Bathroom absolutely freezing cold, fan heater not working, shower unit was filthy with mildew and no remote for TV. Extremely bad value at £36 per night. No one had authority to deal with complaints then when i checked out on last morning. Didnt eat in the place, but glad i didnt when saw how attention to cleaning rooms and bathrooms was niglected - wouldnt like to think how kitchen is. I sent a fax to the establishment regarding my complaints and requesting a refund, but they didnt even have the courtesy to reply - but then again i wasnt really surprised given the level of service i received. Terrible, terrible place.
